Communication has a
broad meaning. The
communications here refer to the technology
and products used to exchange data between industrial equipment, equipment
components and motion control components.
Ethernet communications protocol between
industrial equipment, including EtherNet/IP, EtherCat, Powerlink, Profinet,
Modbus TCP, BACnet/IP, CC-Link IE Field, etc.,
Field bus communications
protocol between equipment components, including EtherNet/IP, EtherCat,
CANopen, CC-Link, DeviceNet, Profibus, Mudbus, wireless, etc., Communications
Protocol between motion control components, including SSI, EnDat,
Hiperface, SPI, CANopen, EtherNet, EtherCat, RS-485/232/422, Powerlink, TCP/IP,
J1939 CAN, i2C, USB, Bluetooth, etc. There will be specific hardware and
software products to support each specific protocol while different protocols
also need corresponding gateways to achieve data exchange.
